Days of Thanks: Being Free

While imperfect, voting is a mechanism that allows me to express my opinion. I appreciate that, especially as I look at all the places I could live where, as a girl, I’d have no right to any opinion at all.

But voting is only the initial motivation for this post. What about the right to gather with other like-minded individuals (worship and political activities come to mind)? What about the right to say and write the things we think? These are rights that I take for granted on a daily basis; however, there are people around the world who simply don’t do these things. Or risk their lives to do them.

Today, I’m a grateful to be free.
