Days of Thanks: Christmas Tree Traditions

This afternoon, Tony’s parents, his brother, and his aunt (up from Charlotte for a visit) went with us to get Christmas trees. Tony’s family has been going to the same place (Oak Shade Farm) to get their Christmas trees for years and they (Tony’s family) just added me to the guest list. It’s a nice way to transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas, as we go sometime shortly after Thanksgiving. We’re already in the area and it’s kind of on our way home, so it’s convenient and fun.

We spent a fun day in the cold (after 60º days, 40º with a decent wind is pretty cool) looking for a tree that would be “just right.” This year we found the trees we wanted fairly quickly (some years it seems like there are no “right” trees), but we enjoyed wandering around the farm because it’s so peaceful.
