Trip West 2014: Activities at the Ranch

We spent a little over a week at the ranch. I rode every day (not including the day we arrived) and Tony rode most days. This is a picture from the day Tony went to Cliff Dives with Mom. Aunt Jane, John (the cowboy who’s helping Aunt Jane wrangle), and I went to a spring behind the house, then went up to see who was parked up there. We went up Jane’s Butte one day, Horseshoe Springs another day, along with some other rides. I really enjoyed all the time I got to spend with the horses.

We also went hiking. We went to Monkeytown (see the link above for our trip to Monkeytown in 2007).

And this? Wanna go down in that typical Arizona canyon?

How about now?

What if the bottom looked like this? Yep. Cliff Dives was incredibly tempting, but I really wanted to get as much riding as possible. So I finally chose to ride instead of hike. I didn’t regret my choice when the ride was so good. Especially since Tony brought back such good pictures.

We also got to go out and look at the stallions and the mares. They have some new blood they’re incorporating into their stock and it was exciting to see what the ranch is working on.

There are more pictures in the album.
